How We Help

Since 1838, the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society has provided financial and practical help, assistance and advice to fishermen and mariners and their dependants who have suffered hardship, misfortune or poverty, as a result of being at sea or on retirement.
For those who have served at sea, and those who are left behind, knowing there is support available when they need it most can be a real lifeline.
The Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society provides five types of Grants and access to a full range of additional support and information. We also have an extensive network of Honorary Agents and partner organisations around the country to offer practical help as required.
Our Testimonials page features some of the kind words from those we have helped – what better way to demonstrate the worth of the support we provide than to hear from those who have received it first-hand?
